The Managers and Staff of Condor Marine Services Ltd enjoyed a productive and enjoyable visit onboard SVS Monck during the vessel’s recent Port Call in Apapa, Lagos. The Master, Officers and Crew hosted their shore-based colleagues and took pride in leading a tour of the vessel, taking them through the living conditions, technical systems and explaining the vessel’s performance and capabilities. SVS Monck is a 33 metre Damen Axebow, currently in use as a security vessel for a major IOC client, with a crew of 8 and a security detachment of 9 persons. The vessel is capable of maintaining a speed of 23 knots and can carry sufficient fuel, fresh water and food to stay at sea for up to 30 days without further resupply.
In turn, the office staff were able to introduce themselves to the seafarers, many of whom would not otherwise get chance to meet the people responsible for their pay, feeding, supplies and commercial success.
The day was enjoyed by all, with both groups learning a great deal about the ‘other side’ of the company’s business and the people who are responsible for delivering it.
Condor Marine Services prides itself on the close bond between all of our people, whether on land or at sea. This common sense of purpose is an important factor in our high standards and continued success, and the seafarers certainly enjoy showing off their powerful ship to the visitors whenever they have a chance!
